Roboboat: From Turkey to the Global Stage!
We are a small but passionate team from Turkey, thrilled to participate for the first time in the prestigious Robobat competition. Combining expertise in various fields, we aim to showcase our innovative project on an international platform and contribute to the future of robotics.
Who Are We?
We are a passionate team of six from the Turkish Naval Academy, proudly representing Türkiye in the pursuit of innovation and excellence! Our is focused on developing cutting-edge autonomous maritime systems, blending our technical expertise with the rich maritime heritage of our nation. Guided by our dedicated, we aim to push the boundaries of technology while staying rooted in our values of teamwork, perseverance, and respect for the. Our work is inspired by Türkiye’s deep cultural connection to the maritime world; a bridge between continents and centuries of. With this spirit, we are thrilled to showcase our project on the global stage, ready to learn, compete, collaborate. As a team, we believe in innovation fueled by dedication and a shared vision for the future of maritime technology.

What Do We Do?

Our team, driven by an innovative vision, is focused on advancing technology through the development of the the Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV). Each department works towards excellence in their area, bringing every stage of the project to life. The Team Advisor leads in strategic planning, risk management, material supply, and quality control, while continuously monitoring the team's performance and offering valuable advice for success. The Electronics Design Department ensures all USV components are well-integrated and function smoothly, thoroughly testing every detail. The Mechanical Design Department works on improving the vehicle's stability and efficiency, using precise calculations to design each part with perfect balance. The Algorithm and Software Department develops software for autonomous movement, artificial intelligence, and image processing, enhancing the vehicle’s sensing and data handling capabilities. Together, these departments work seamlessly to create a high-performance USV for the Roboboat 2025.
What's an USV?

An Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) is an autonomous or remotely controlled vessel that operates on the water's surface without a crew onboard. These vehicles are utilized in various sectors, including defense, environmental monitoring, oceanographic research, and commercial applications. Equipped with advanced sensors and navigation systems, USVs perform tasks such as surveillance, data collection, and mapping efficiently and safely in diverse marine environments. Our team is developing a USV specifically for the RoboBoat competition, an international event that challenges participants to design autonomous vessels capable of completing complex maritime tasks. Our USV is engineered to navigate through buoy channels, deliver objects, and dock at ports autonomously. It utilizes GPS for precise positioning, integrates mapping technologies for environmental awareness, and employs sophisticated algorithms, including image processing, to localize itself and execute tasks with high accuracy.
RoboBoat is an international robotics competition where teams design, build, and operate autonomous surface vehicles to complete complex water-based tasks. Organized by RoboNation, RoboBoat emphasizes innovation, teamwork, and practical problem-solving in maritime robotics, providing a platform for students and researchers to showcase their skills and advance the field of autonomous technology. The upcoming RoboBoat 2025 competition is scheduled to take place from March 3 to 9, 2025, at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, USA. Our team is excited to participate in this event, where we will not only demonstrate our autonomous surface vehicle's capabilities but also engage in cultural exchange, meet new people from diverse backgrounds, and collaborate with teams from around the world.
